There should be an incremental change to damage bonus that works above level 50 and is made on weapon delay. Basically the slower the weapon the higher the bonus, so tantor's tusk at 50/60 should be crazy. I do not know when this change will occur though. I vote to make it happen right away along with hybrid exp penalty being lifted, get more of those nights out there to help out the exp groups.
Hybrid XP patch occurs a couple months after launch and the weapon damage bonus patch occurs around 10 months after. Developers have already stated that they intend to follow actual timeline as closely as possible.

Great, because that plan really worked out the first time, didn't it?

how ungrateful etc...think how many people would have missed the Kunark expansion era completely if we'd had an original timeline? I for one enjoyed Kunark (leveling particularly) a lot.

If you want to take that stance, then you could say that the recycle server would be soon as well and those new players would get to experience it as it should be.

Yeah sure that's been announced now, but a lot of P99'ers joined during Kunark and they've had the time to level up in that era still being able to look forward to something concrete coming afterwards.

If you joined near the end of Velious or after the last Velious patch...wouldn't you feel less invested in the server's future?

I'd say the pop has at least doubled since Kunark launched, arguably at a more classic server pop it'll make Velious more interesting now.

I'm not sure. I think that's an unfair assumption. I started just a few months ago and this server has been in Kunark for 4 years. I was more just enjoying playing EQ again, like I'm sure many people do who come to play here. If it was at Velious, I'd genuinely not have cared.

I think leveling up in the midst of Velious would still offer brand new players something concrete and the truth is, it may bring in a bigger population overall. EQ grew as it brought in more expansions, you could maybe assume that there are more people interested in the later expansions than just strictly vanilla/kunark days.

I'm more amped at the idea of a new Teams server, myself. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

You have a good point, but it was at least twice as long as it should have been even for here. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I also upvote that this is stupid.

4 years for Velious when the changes are probably already available.

VOTE FOR CHANGE!
