Lite is a terrible guild leader and this isn't his first failed attempt at leading a guild here.

Instead of being smart and actually playing EQ end game like a game of strategy which is what we did he kept a small crew of elitists nobody actually wants to play here with and got his shit pushed in until his guild fell apart.

Azrael could have easily recruited and contested us, but chose not to now they're on the forums F5'ing every thread so they can immediately claim zerg.

You guys should stop being such whiney crybaby faggots and cut your losses with the border jumper before velious hits unless you want to be reduced to farming thurg faction armor at 4am when we're done slaughtering every raid mob and person in our way.

As someone who stuck by Lite's side through a lot of shit I'm going to offer a different perspective.

Lite is not a terrible leader, his style is just not cut out for a classic eq server. His greatest periods of success have been when he's got substancial help from long time emu players like kringe, queen, jibeknn, colgate etc.

His leadership is shown in small scale situations where he has his selection of guys in a guerilla warfare type scenario where he can try to innovate (aside from the yeti cave situation he's been pretty good at this). There were some random stall strats he pulled out of his ass over the couple of years I played with him that ended up putting a much stronger Nihilum on their heels in order to give us time to do something.

It took a lot of time playing with Kringe/Nerfed/Hughman etc to realize that the problem was actually with Lite's style and approach. That being said I still love the guy and I wish him the best of luck going for another incarnation of Azrael.

Given up on the small crew idea. Azrael is the only guild that was ever interested in that idea, but we now understand we are alone in that ideology. Azrael has been remodeled in order to adjust and I think people will be quite please with what's to come.

It's not that Azrael is the only one interested man. But look at what it takes to get a guild off the ground here with all the trolls, guild floppers and general retards. There just aren't enough people willing to put in the time and effort to running a guild. There is also an issue of this being a 300 pop box so the zerg guild is never going to have any recruitment standards. People aren't forced to come up through the ranks in lower tier guilds where they might find they like it and stick around.

Azrael would have had a fuckin' blast on RZ in 2000, it was exactly what you guys want for this server. No huge guilds, a lot of 10-15 person PVP focused ones and raiding only got accomplished through alliances with other guilds. I wish we could have that here but the deck is stacked against it.

Supply and demand. The problem is you have a zerg the promises an easy ride, and far too many people that want an easy ride coming here

If the supply of warm body benches stopped then the warm body blues would stop joining the zerg.

People who come from blue to actually experience red would have no issue fighting survival, instead of being care bear warm bodies in holo.

TLDR: stop offering an easy ride zerg, people will gravitate towards smaller guilds. PVP will happen, interesting alliances will be made and broken. Etc.

So you're asking for the guild full of players who want an easy ride to stop recruiting players who both desire and enable said easy ride?

Yeah not gonna happen. Holo is not going to change, because the way they play has them satisfying their own victory conditions.

And I think you're underestimating how many people wouldn't just say "shit Holo isn't accepting new members, I'll join another guild or make my own". I think a large portion of them would just say "fuck it I won't even bother switching from blue to red".

The entire server would be a lot better if people would just stop giving a shit how other people played and just did their thing.
