blizzard will and has shut down every single private server hosted in the US

thats why every single one is in europe, where they have different laws.

please find me a us hosted blizzard server

I refuse to play on AT now that its merged with Molten-WoW. Disgusting casuals. RIP Wylhelm #1 Resto Shaman on AT-Cata.

But Tomatohead is right, all the servers that have a decent track record are outside of the states. If they are within the states they usually don't last longer than a year or weren't popular or good to begin with.

wouldnt they be equally obligated to go after individuals making money from their game? It isnt like the staff run a company, so essentially its just a bunch of individuals anyway. wherever the RMT is coming from, its still money being made off of a game that SOE holds the rights to.
you know SoE sold out and is now called daybreak game company right?

fair point

I just think that SOE knew that EQemu existed but that they didn't give a shit. I don't think their attitude would have been different if devs/CSR staff here were openly giving out items/levels for money.

Corporate policy is most likely either 1) try to shut down all private servers where ever they can or 2) don't do anything about it.

I highly doubt SOE was using the time and resources to say "wait until we are aware of EQemu server staff making money from RMT and then shut it down."

Could be wrong though. Never ran a server or worked for SOE so who knows. Also, maybe daybreak or whatever it is will have a different policy.
