Why give VP keys to needed classes when you will never do VP except on double suspensions? Velious makes vp obsolete.

Isn't it obvious? When BDA implodes all the VP-keyed ex-BDAers who hate TMO & IB too much to raid with either will got to A-Team and join the queue to buy VP rots.

I don't think anyone in The A-Team has bought a VP rot since Sakuragi got a sword like last June or July?

Tecmos, Sixsix, and Loraen buying rots was more or less when IB still played on EQMac.

However, that's not to say this bard wouldn't buy Lyran's Mystical Lute or the Katana of Flowing Water if the price was right.

When Velious happens, the encounters are a great deal more accessible if you have VP gear, no? So why wouldn't we do VP? It's not like on day 1 of Velious we're all going to get full ToV gear. Getting one or two pieces of VP gear will make the journey to the top of the BiS ladder smoother. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

We will still be farming VP in Velious.
