BDA had maybe 10 people logged in at KC (about the same number as the Asgard loitering there, actually) when VS popped. After pop was announced through vent/text, the others logged in.

The number of people logged in was meaningless though, because the trackers/FTErs we had were more prepared then Asgard's. BDA could have had just their 2 trackers and 2 FTErs logged in and still won when Asgard is just tracking with an FD shadowknight.
That simply is not true. I logged in maybe 10 minutes before the pop to do a /who and I saw way more BDA than 10. Also we were not going to do a COTH race because we knew that at that time of night our members were getting tired and did not want to sit and stair at their computer screens to win a COTH race. Instead we hoped that you would COTH race it and fail. You did not, you beat the monster VS and got some sweet loots.

On a positive note Neither guild trained each other for this attempt. I was happily surprised to see that.

I agree, one thing that is hammered into your head during FFA stuff is not to train.

But like I said, it didn't matter how many BDA were sitting logged in for this case. Same can be said for most of the encounters in Kunark/Classic (outside of Trakanon) - as long as your guild can respond to a text message in a reasonable time. All that matters is getting the FTE, which takes only poopsock commitments of a few people.
