This reminds me of when I was getting out of the Marines, this 1stsgt was trying to convince me to re-up or extend for another deployment. One of the ways he tried to convince me to stay in was because there were "over 500 million unemployed Americans." I was transferring units that day to go be a training cadre while I waited for my EAS date, so I had absolutely no reservations about informing him that there were just over 300 million Americans in the United States. Was ridiculously satisfying... (he was a dick)

Yea, he out ranked me, but I was untouchable at that point. He wouldn't have been the first person who tried to NJP me and interestingly enough, he wouldn't have ended up being the last (was a combat water survival instructor and some SSgt who was going trying to get scout swimmer qualification tried to get me on hazing.. yea.. he out ranked me and was claiming I was hazing him. I was, but still. What he called hazing I called motivation to get better at swimming.)
