Default Spells Files Outdated

I've run google searches and read a few threads but I'm still having the error.

I've tried replacing my spells files 4x with the v36 download and I still get the spell files outdated error. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I played the game fine 3 months ago.

I don't know if reinstalling would work since piratebay is down now?

If you know for a fact that you've unzipped the latest patch correctly, then just keep trying and ignore the error. I still get it 20-odd times a week, even though my files are up-to-date.

Reinstalling probably won't help.

But there are other kickass places to get Titanium.

When i reinstalled, i thought i had unzipped the spell file update correctly, but after 3 tries it was still saying i needed to update the spell files.

Turns out that wiinzip or whatever wasnt extracting properly. I manually dragged and dropped all the files from the update into the eq directory and thats what finally worked for me. Might be worth trying moving the files manually.

Thanks for the responses,

I'm not sure how I can ignore the error, my characters don't appear on character select so I can't play ???

I actually did try manually dragging them into the eq directory and it still didn't solve the problem.

What I mean by "ignore" is don't concern yourself with it. Just keep trying to log in. It will often give you the error message even when there is no error.

Well, I just tried 5 times in a row, same error. I don't think trying repeatedly is going to just magically fix it. I guess I'll try a full reinstall somehow...
