How do you turn off pixel/vertex shaders?

I tried the following registry settings I found via google, but it did not seem to help [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D\PixelShad erMode [Set to "disabled" to turn off]

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D\VertexSha derMode [Set to "none" to turn off]
