EQ is old, once you had that run to 60 for nostalgia (and also key is no other MMO worth playing) for me it started to lose its luster.
I mean, we fucking harpooned a boat and killed the people on it afterwards by jumping on it with our gliders. Archeage has its flaws but im probably not going to EQ ever, beside the occasional drive-by login. Maybe if a red server had 800-1000 instead of 200 and not filled with 50% dirtbags | ||

Flying over a bunch of reds and carpet bombing them from my glider up high isnt old yet, thats for sure. I mean EQ is allright, if things had been done right on red (not letting the worst aspect of the box thrive by letting them grief off the normals for a year+ with xp loss, this also leading to Nihilum establishing dominance, the several short-sighted xp nerfs) i could see myself playing more. With a fragile pop like red, nerfing xp for a month or so was i think the pinnacle of my WTF moments on 99. I think Rogean, Deru, Sirken mean well, but you need to be a pvper, you need to have put time in the box to get a feel for what it needs. Xp loss and xp nerf were so far from what the server needed. At the very least you need to pay attention to feedback instead of laughing it off like "this isnt call of duty" when people did a play-by-play deconstruction of what was gonna happen (people not contesting zergs). For the box to recuperate from that awful first 2 years, you would need like a big guild from blue or outside suddenly deciding to all roll on red, crush toxic trash guilds and i doubt thats going to happen. Its like a bonsai tree now, all twisted, you just cant salvage that, you have to plant a new tree (server) but i doubt there will be enough water (players) to make that tree grow anymore. With the residents there who are sure to drive off 97% people who try the server... i feel im wasting my time because EQ is a marathon payoff. Ill still log my alt once in a while to protect noobs in rags from those people, but not often. Little effort is made to clean the forums beside when youre posting gay porn or Banning people like me warning new people of the toxic pop and behavior. I mean i regularly see posts like kill yourself junkie whore, Rexx's wife is going to poison him to get insurance money, like wtf... and i eat a month long ban warning people that this is whats waiting for you at end game. ----- A window of opportunity was opened in late 2011 and it didnt work out. Not gonna do that grind again on a 150 people box with people boxing 3 accounts. Personally im all nostalgia'd out. With that being said, i like the custom ideas of that server, just not willing to invest time on dead boxes anymore. Quote:
