opening another dozens of zones (velious) with the handfull of players currently playing or having double or tripple the playerbase in half the zones we have right now with kunark in a classic environment?

added to that the lvl gap with maxlvl 50 in classic would be lower resulting in more pvp than we have now.

I actually agree with you because if I had the choice to play on a fresh red99 server I would, but I don't think it will happen. Kergan had a good suggestion when this was brought up prior. Open a new red99 server and have it merge into the current server once a year to avoid having any kind of wipe. Then start up a new one.

They have a server free, but it is for Velious beta. It is a stretch either way but not even a discussion until Velious beta is over with.

I think it would be cool. "Seasons" are the new rage, where each one has its own unique thing going on. I think we could do something like that.

As far as hardware goes, I'd personally send Rogean a server (1 or 2 Dell blades) capable of running EQ if that is what it would take. I have a pile of 'em decommissioned sitting in my server room right now.
