it's about having neutral and unbiased content as much as possible. neither side in gamergate is going to be cited as a scholar on the topic. i sincerely doubt wikipedia has any desire to host a description of that "event" at all.

again, this is how wikipedia has operated for years. they've removed postings both negative and positive related to all sorts of criminal events, including pedophiles.
