One other thing to note about the timeline is that the Ring was eventually removed as part of the quest, but Xantix Ixtax always handed back a recharged ring when handed the ring and 10gp(and still does to this day in eq live). This was also MQable on EQ live - I knew a number of SKs who xferred rings to friends before quitting; this was simply done by handing in the ring to Xantix first and a second person hands in the 10gp. | ||

This allakhazam page from wayback machine has more proof of how the quest worked: Also, the reaper of the dead reward from the quest should have a instant cast time CH... The 30 second nerf wasn't till 2002. | ||
