I can see it, but everquest was built on a 72 man raid metagame, that was merely an example.

Kunark was not build on a 72 man raid metagame. Neither was Velious. Legacy of Steel / FoH, these guilds weren't raiding 72 deep in Velious, I have no idea where you got that idea. The 72 man thing didn't come in until Planes of Power. If you think somehow raiding dragons that take 19-21 people in Kunark with 72 people, on a server that struggles to break 120 consecutive players on a daily basis is acceptable, than maybe you should just play a game with instances and actual challenging PvE like WoW.

You are wrong.

Just because the UI did not support the 72 man format does not mean that guilds at that point did not have obscene numbers.

When Vis Maior first killed the content on Quellious, in direct competition with FoH/AL, they had at minimum all times > 50 people.

To say 30 to 40 people is a zerg is not classic EQ.
