They are not immune, they will root/dispell you. If you have under 100mr you better have cancel magic on your bar. If you don't have Jboots or another clicky you will want to keep lich on your bar and stack your buffs behind it.
May not worry about it so much if you are fear kiting, I prefer root rotting playing on red.
