You're saying Iksar necro isn't good in pvp??
No, back when the PvP boards were in full swing, necros were the worst performing class statistically.

This server isn't true classic where necros would kill a player in 1 splurt after sending a pet on them. End game pvpers are fully twinked and run around with full hp buffs. Nukes used to land like lures and even after resists patch still land 200-400% more effectively then they did in classic pvp.

guarantee a majority of the players on this server dont keep 3 open slots

also, you can bury poison dots pretty easily regardless of their buff setup

I didn't say a necro can't do damage. They have great dots. I just said if a necro is casting DDs on a boss on this server whoever is in charge will put an end to it. This is assuming it is a boss that is tough and not steamrolled in 10 seconds. I'm referring to raids that need to be run efficiently.
That's fine. The original statement that started this entire derail was whether or not another Necro was more valuable than another Cleric in a CH line.

Are resists for necros significantly changed from live? I was one of the best geared pvp necros on SZ, and deflux was almost never resisted. Splurt and Ignite Blood (I think?) were also effectively never resisted. I, and other top necros, would routinely solo take on full groups of 60s and win.

I'm curious how necros are bad now. Does deflux not land here? That spell was the cornerstone of the necro pvp ability.

Necros are strong 1v1 vs other casters...the the main issues are as follows.

1) Everyone has pumice, unlike live

2) Overall DoT dmg is weak

3) Cure pots are every where

4) EoT is awful

The most successful playstyle I had with my necro here is to play them like a wizard. The only DoT i used was Cessastion of Cor (not for the dot but for the -50 STR the wrecks casters; ghetto snare). I would run deflux, touch of night and trucidate and just nuke. Add in 2 DAs and shadowstep you can live thru assists. Call of Bones is great as well to hide amongst the AoN'd skell armies.

I ended up switching to chanter for my previous guild desperately needing one, got an inny shield and never looked back

LizardNecro,,,feel free to hit me up in game on Ksah if you have questions

Problem with being a caster is mass pvp at end game is all about having thirty level 60 melees melt you in three seconds. While in some scenarios you can get a geometry advantage and hide and cast, in many others it's rather difficult to find a good a spot to drop bombs from and you die faster than an adc in a oL team fight.
