What irks you?

People who refuse to group. I mean, I get that some people like soloing and that their lives make it tempting to make a solo class, but there are also those who actively reject invites in dungeons in favor of soloing the exact same content. I had a group in Mistmoore once, pulling to that hill by the pond, and we had room for another. This druid runs up, rejects the invite, and proceeds to solo the same mobs we're pulling from. He wasn't camping some named spawn for gear, he wasn't AFK 90% of the time or otherwise unable to function in a group, he just preferred soloing the mobs. I don't get that. I take no issue with people who prefer kiting in Karana over going to a "dungeon", or want to grind out the last bit of an irritating level without the risk of wiping in more challenging content. I sympathize with people who don't want the hassle of putting a group together. But when someone is invited as the 6th man and then refuses, only to start soloing the mobs they would have been killing in the group anyway, I have to wonder why they play an MMORPG.

Let me ask you this, why would someone who is completely capable of soloing stuff that it takes a whole group of non-solo classes to kill, join a group to get only 1/6th of the exp...I have been in groups many times and let me tell you, I can solo faster and get better exp than any group can get exp at my level. Not to mention get 100% of the money. Maybe that is me being selfish but it is the truth.

For example, I am level 45, I got 2 yellow yesterday in a little over 3 hours, just off and on camping seafuries and gornit. I made 2k. If I were in a group, you bet your ass I wouldn't have gotten where I did.

What erks me is getting tells for invites to groups when I am kicking ass at soloing and making phat lewts...

In all seriousness though, I don't group because when I log on, I have no idea how long I will be on for. It could be 15mins, it could be 6 hours. Back when I was in college I would group right up with ya, but now that I am married, my plans get messed up.

So I try to make as much of it as I can and solo my way up so I can keep up with the Jeffersons.

I don't think hes stating that it would be faster, and I agree, why would he bother for 1/6th the XP. But how about respect that it's camped, instead of just starting to pull where a group already is. I personally could solo alot faster on my bard than MOST groups. However, I have the mentality that if I wanted to solo, I'd go play Xbox.

I'm not sure why people who play solo classes have such an arrogance about them. Just because you picked a Mage over a Rogue doesnt mean youre better at the game. Understandable, but you are simply getting mad at two different things and lumping them together. Which can be mistaken by others. In one point, you argue that the person refuses to join your group because they want to solo. The second point is that the person is taking mobs from you.

By all means the second point would piss me off to, but the first point has to be argued separately because it is a completely different thing. Not sure how I or people of my class come off as arrogant. I get little play time and I enjoy soloing. If I were invited to a group I would simply turn it down because of my unknown de-logging tendencies. If I joined a group and had to leave in 15mins, it would be unfair to the group. I brought up the point of making 2k in 3 hours only to show that people who solo can make more than people who group, thus being a reason (not the only reason) to solo. I did not mean it as a "na na boo boo I make more than you in one hour". It was not meant to rub anything in. I understand that your post was not directed at me but it seems that you are just bitter. It does not help the credibility of your irk. What does not having any friends have anything to do with making 3k in 2 hours? I would make that statement if someone said I made 20k in 12hours because they were playing a game for the marjoriy of the day. Thus taking away quality social time with real life people.

It simply makes you look like a whiner. Which many of the people in this thread are. Granted, I have my irks, but you are complaining about something that A) People generally do on MMOs, so get used to it and B) You make assumptions about solo classes based on one incident. It seems to me that you are just bitter...

Not bitter, I got most of my gear and roomates gear using a 50 mage to farm manastones and rubi bp's, but to brag about doing something so easily achievable is classless and immature. My irk was about this immaturity, and warrants no credibility other than my own.

My apologies if you thought of it as bragging. Again, I was merely stating a point. But if you want to be hypocritical about it and make the statement that you have the ability to farm "manastones and Rubi bp's" with ease, you are only making yourself look "classless and immature". You are not proving any point with your statement. To mention such items when you could have just said, "I got most of my gear and roommates gear using a 50 mage to farm" is only showing that you in fact are bragging.
