Pets Break Mez

Now lets see. As a pet class I have a macro to tell my pet what to attack.

/pet back off
/pet attack


If a pet class that can control their pet does not have a macros similar to this they should either be quickly instructed on doing so or loose pet their privilege. Its pretty simple. Let be real here. Controlling a pet is not that difficult. If the pet is not being controlled is the pet class someone you really want on your raid or in your group.

Haynar originally took my post to be an attack on the server. Which was an incorrect impression. The server is great, and in this regard just like classic. (Well someone did post that in classic you could command your pet to attack a mez target, which you can't do here. And its true you could, but I am glad you can't here.) His second response was just a satirical response to my post.

My post states the obvious. But unfortunately, it needs to be stated. Because tons of people don't get it. He was just acknowledging that I was, stating the obvious hence the *shocker*.

Problem: Pets breaking mezz?
Solution: If adds keep hittin back off, Onced mezzed hit assist button, pet attack. If u dont back pet off even when the first mob is dead your pet will then go at mob to break mez. What is the problem?

If you see a pet on a mob, the smart thing to do is to root it, not mez it.

That is a great solution! But remember, bards don't have root. And most people can't muster up the energy to think critically. OK the bard's getting fucked up, cause someone, or my, pet is running wild. What should I do?

Usually it falls to me to try to find some way to survive. I have started to keep charm loaded on my spell bar.

So unfortunately your suggestion isn't very helpful to the main issue. Is it a good solution? Yes, can you count on someone being quick witted enough to root when the mezzer is in trouble. NO.

So back to letting everyone know the pets break mez.

Great Post! Please head his advice. The next big problem. Is with these pet classes... Thats all their DPS! If I ask to remove the pet, then things don't get killed.

So I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. Save my own skin by asking people to drop their pets, but the healer then wasting extra mana healing the tank, having a lot more down time and much slower exp gain.

OR keep the pets up, probably get killed once or twice because of their stupidity, but be able to burn through mobs cause we have tons of DPS.

I usually end up with the latter, because the first one, penalizes the entire groups experience. The second one penalizes only mine.
