I can ease your fears about Windows 7. My wife's laptop is running Windows 7 and I didn't have any issues getting everything installed and running on there.

I'm running XP on my computer and I don't notice a difference.... (other than her computer is faster than mine [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] )

Pure black screen ?

right click screen , properties , settings, troubleshoot.

Make sure it's all the way , full throttle.
