I hate to stand on the hackneyed soapbox of arguing semantics, but I have a pet peeve about this figure of speech.

EVERYTHING IS MADE OUT OF CHEMICALS.

Lettuce is made out of chemicals. Air is made out of chemicals. Water is made out of chemicals. Hippie whole-grain granola is made out of chemicals. Patchouli oil (Alawen's favorite scent) is made out of fucking chemicals. The only fucking thing NOT made out of chemicals is fucking absolute vacuum.

I don't know who started the trend of making people think that chemicals are inherently bad, but I think that person should be stripped down to their bare ass and whipped to within an inch of their life.

Saying you're chemical-free is ridiculous. Please stop saying that.
