I got a beta invite to this. They make you buy cards? I am a avid mtg player but I don't wanna pay for a beta.

You have the option to buy packs (You will keep your cards when game goes live) with money or gold. You earn gold by completing daily quests, winning games or winning in the arena. As a new player you can get a decent start without spending a dime just by doing these simple things.

The Duelist Play 3 games in Play or Arena mode. 100 Gold
Ready To Go Unlock every hero. 100 Gold
Level Up Get any class to level 10. 1 Card Pack
