What compels you to help/not help people?

I'll help out new players occasionally with pp or items I've found in higher Kunark zones.

I'll also sit and watch you die to a named mob without supplying assistance.



So basically, don't rely on me for anything unless we are grouped, guilded, or already friends.

When I find gear I don't need I will usually hunt someone down who does need it. I was in a throne group in Crushbone on my paladin and we got several Dwarven Ringmail/ Dwarven Axe drops.

I ran around Gfay/Butcherblock looking for newbies to give them to. I always hold onto the patchwork you get from CB belts and give those to people as well.

I'll usually put the patchwork into bags, and give the whole bags and some PP.

The fact that somebody gave me 10pp for spells and a set of banded on my first day on the server inspired me to help folk - I know how chuffed I was when I got that stuff so I enjoy paying it forward, even if it is just minor shit like overpaying for CB belts.

I DMF people on the nec as long as I don't have to run to them. I rarely buff on the cleric because the buffs that they want I keep on page 40. Resolution is not a spell that a lvl 60 cleric casts much. Symbols cost a peridot + a lot of mana so I normally don't do them.

Totally spur of the moment. Sometimes i'll go and give group hero+symbol to every group in CoM. Sometimes i'll ignore rez requests and log out because i'm tired of playing EQ.
I do tend to toss out gear under 200p because I just can't be bothered to sell it and I can see someone would use it.

Schfifty PL'd me and gave me plat when I was more of a newb than I am now, for no reason other than being nice. A guy named Risenin who I haven't seen around in a long time bought me fighting batons in EC when I was lvl 13 and Wiggles resed me countless times in Sol A.

These guys are big reasons why I help people out.

I am a fond believer of paying it forward. I remember someone handing out 100pp to any lowbies in EC tunnel the first week I started. I do the same about once a month, I go to orc camp in EC and if anyone is in cloth/leather/banded I just hand them 100-200pp and wish them well.

Even just splitting a orc or derv camp to help out the lowbies makes a world of difference for them and their attitude towards the server and community as a whole.

I also have met some of the people I have known the longest on this server from helping them in way or another. I know I befriended at least 20+ bard/Rogues in getting them their DE mask in Lguk.

I click people for fun with instant DS shield vambraces.

Sometimes I give stuff away.

I like to hang out at Orc 1 and AE snare all the mobs because it's my favorite camp in game.

One day i decided to run over to the orc camp to help the newbies out while hanging out in ec. Someone posted pics on the forums accusing me of 2boxing for no reason at all. After that, I try not to help many newbies. Guildies or players that i know i have no problem helping at all.
