Understood. In the meantime, if I may suggest a simple solution - disable their response when hailed by players.
I have a friend who made a Gnome that ran into this. He then made a Wood Elf, tried the Kelethin lifts, and declared the game was half-working, and logged off. The lifts aren't an issue for most, but followed by his Gnome experience, I completely understand his impatience.
