Yes I'm sure. I've never fucked around with the witch's brew. You could(perhaps still can) buy Salvia directly from headshops with the active ingredient listed on the label in south florida. It would be sold as 'incense' or something on it.
I think the closest thing one could relate to Salvia is getting on a rollercoaster when you are expecting a trolley, no matter how you mentally 'prepare' it will catch you by surprise. It strips any sense of reality or memory from the moment and lays bare your mind for a new reality for 30 seconds.
I've been told DMT when injected is a much lengthier 'in and out' version of this where you are sometimes flipped back and forth between being in your normal world and then hallucinogenic reality for 30min to several hours or longer. At least some of the trip reports I read implied this.
