Names can be fun though even in an environment like this because barring being totally offensive or racial they can mean something to the person who plays the character. I can get the name changing if it offends someone or is degrading to them but who are you to say what Fantasy is from one person to another? Now if the Devs are getting threats of lawsuit over names I can understand but I seriously doubt at this point any one of importance cares that their name or character name is being used in this game. See below for all the wonderful rule lawyer trolls hiding under their bridges with their horn rimmed glasses studying the EQ players guides and rules/EULA. fan·ta·sy /ˈfantəsē/ noun noun: fantasy 1.the faculty or activity of imagining things, esp. things that are impossible or improbable. I understand that people may view fantasy a little differently, but when we say fantasy genre, we tend to realize that means elves, dwarfs, halflings, etc. It also think it is safe to assume that in no "fantasy" literature dealing with elves, dwarfs, halflings, etc. would you find names like "jerkzoffontoast", "ballliker", "blowzurmom", "underthesheetz", etc. Even less offensive names such as "crushemsmashem", "tidybowl", or "thunderstud" are nowhere to been seen in the literature. Obviously fantasy names will be made up, but I feel they should be done so in line with the conventions set forth by the genre or game itself. Looking at NPCs usually gives one the idea of what names would be like for PCs in the game-world. Just a thought.
