Does anyone have any proof that this actually was a classic mechanic though.

I remember low health being a problem to the extent that if someone dropped low health while grouped the mob was going to V-line straight to them. No amount of taunting or hate increase would pull the mob off until the low health person was healed or killed. Time frame on when it was like this, I'm not so sure, 2000-2005?

You ppl act like low hp aggro is only there for bards to profit from and that it's not relevant in any other aspect of EQ.
Wrong. Low hp aggro makes raiding more challenging, grouping more challenging etc. Low hp aggro on a raid mob? You're dead. game over. It's there for a reason and just because bards take advantage of it in a positive way doesn't mean remove it and dumb down the game where its intended to work in a negative way. When the huge amount of threat that low hp causes was changed down the road, it was only changed to make things "easier" for other content ie who cares if so and so has shitty resists and gets low health, they won't get aggro and bad play is excused.
