The event in question was a Senior or Elder guide decided it would be "fun" to summon people into VP on the bridge. His timing was good, he almost always managed to get them there about the time a dragon was coming through. But fear not, he was near the racnars on the far side! So you died anyway.

He called it a GM event. Verant called him "fired" and banned lol.

There are screenshots out there somewhere too that the guide took.

Edit:
I remember there being a LOT more than 10 bodies in those shots lol.

Yeah I was pretty shocked when I was killed by a racnar. I definitely wasn't bound in there - I was just left sitting in FV wondering what the fuck just happened. I guess someone else might have been bound though. ;-)

ABSOR ON TERRIS’ ROGUE GUIDE [Author: lum]

by Scott Jennings on December 31, 1999

As an update to the story earlier on a guide on Terris-Thule summoning folks to certain death in Veeshan’s Peak, Alan “Absor” VanCouvering commented on EQ’s official boards today.

It seems that one of the Guides on the Terris-Thule server summoned several players into Veeshan’s Peak and bound them there. This caused them to die and respawn in the same spot. This could have caused them to die several times.

We have logs of the incident, and we can verify those that were affected. We will be using those logs to help us straighten this out. Of course we will be doing everything we can to rectify the situation to the satisfaction of those that were involved. We are sorry that this happened.

We do our best to accept guides that, well, won’t do this sort of thing. For the most part I think the Guides are a wonderful group of people, and we are all very pleased and grateful for the effort they give on behalf of their fellow players. I certainly hope that this one incident doesn’t give anyone a bad impression of the Guide program or its members.

WHEN GUIDES ATTACK
Tuesday, November 21, 2000 - 9:17 AM MST [Filed by lum]
Got this note from someone who I presume is now an ex-guide on Terris Thule. Judging from other email I've gotten, yes, someone went postal on Terris last night.

Last night around 10:30pm PST I decided to summon around 20 players to Veeshans Peak and bind them there causing them to die many many times. For the players I didn't get a chance to bind, I continued to summon them over and over until some big nasty GM got mad at me, at which time my internet connection became very unstable and disconnected me *shrug*. Included are some screenshots of the nice event. For those of you Terris players whom I didn't get a chance to bind: Sorry, I will do better next time.

Because I'm an ex-Terris-Thulian and my alma mater was mentioned (CtV).

Morell Thule was full of overaly happy GM's that at one time would come hang out when we were 1st starting to raid Velious. I remember the lead GM was a Female Bard rogue and used to come in our forums and talk with everyone, Just cant remember that chicks name. I heard plenty of different storries of a few flipping shit and loosing their GM rights, but nothing first person.

Can't remember what server I was playing at the time, but once a GM kept summoning people in the bazaar to the arena and his friends would kill them. Player merchants, everyone.
