As someone who is incredibly far from the raiding scene, and newer to the server.
It would certainly be nice to have access to my epic at some point down the line. From what I've heard, if I'm not in TMO or FE at 60, I won't have a shot at getting it. Again, no credibility here, just sharing some thoughts.
