I was camping the Bard ammo slot gem in SSrae Temple, so was very solo (by "very" I mean there was no-one even close to being near me - it was pretty much a group-only area that Bards figured out how to solo). I died to a combination of lag/resists and the server came down before I respawned at my bind point. That had happened before, but it must have happened for me at the point after the server had spawned my fully geared corpse, but before it had removed all the gear from my character.

There was a lot of talk at the time about duping, I remember. Uber guilders had figured this dynamic out and were apparently using exploits to crash zones and duplicate their inventories in this exact way (surprise, surprise). The server I was on and others were being flooded with duped plat. Sony was attempting to track it all down and fix it - which is why I decided to just delete my corpse inventory and walk away whistling. I didn't want to run the risk of being banned/suspended for something that was entirely innocent.

Actually, I think I actually had to delete my character items before looting the corpse items - hence my anxiety at deleting the epic I was carrying. I remember checking the version on my corpse many times to make certain it was ok before I went through with it, and tested it on lesser lore items first.
There were a lot of corpses at shady recently......(well known player) they all disappeared today...
