NOW, in researching I'm noticing a correlation between Dain and Yeli faction. Any mob that raised one, seems to raise the other. Any assistance helping prove/disprove that?

There are 3 factions overall

Giant
Dwarf
Dragon

The general relation is Dwarves and dragons hate giants.

There are 2 dwarf factions: Coldain and Dain.
+Coldain comes from killing most giants.
+Dain comes from giants on Tormax faction.
Killing any dwarf results in -Coldain and -Dain

There are 2 dragon factions: Claws of Veeshan and Lord Yelinak
+Claws comes from killing any giant.
+Yelinak comes from killing Tormax giants.
Killing any dragon results in -Claws and -Yelinak.

There are 4 giant factions: Kromrif, Kromzek, Storm and Tormax.
Kromrif comes from killing any dwarf not on Dain faction.
Kromzek comes from killing any dwarf not on Dain faction or any dragons not on Yelinak faction. (Kromzek is what the Kael quests are done on)
Tormax faction comes from any dwarf on Dain faction or any dragon on Yelinak faction.
I am uncertain what factions give +Storm
Killing any giant results in -Kromrif -Kromzek -Tormax

There are 3 factions specific to Tunare in Velious and 3 old world factions.
Tunarean Court (applies to mobs in the tower where the PoG tree is). Is linked to Claws faction somehow but not directly (ie killing a dragon won't make you KoS to them)
Servants of Tunare. Killing anything in PoG gives bad faction with them and there is no way to raise it back that I know of.
Protectors of Growth. Linked only to the PoGs in PoG. Can only go down too. No known way to raise.
The other 3 are
Faydarks Champions
Clerics of Tunare
I forget the last one but I know it is tied to Kelethin.
