Necromancer Skullcap #6 - Hafling Swashbuckler

My buddies just started camping the hafling for the 6th necro cap this evening and after reading a lot of wiki entries and form posts it sounds like he's currently in and working like he should. So no worries, this post isn't about any of that.

We were just wondering if anyone that's had experience camping the halfling could offer over any advice or anecdotes on the circumstances that lead to you finding him. Any possible placeholders, or guesses at spawn timers. The information that's out there is pretty limited, and maybe that's all there is, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
