I'd hate to ask something actually relevant to the thread's title, but I do have a question. I heard through the grapevine, that the trak guts were effectively duplicated as the bard in question was allowed to retain his epic.

Confirm/deny? Inquiring minds want to know.

Does no one really have the answer? I'm genuinely curious, whatever the answer, this is a very interesting situation.
