Apparently normal raid rules didn't apply to this encounter, except FTE. Nobody knew this though at the time. The GM's meant for it to be a mess with multiple wipes etc. With how the raiding scene is, explaining this before probably would have been the better approach. If you're intending for something to be a complete mess with guilds slipping on each other's blood, keeping the FTE rule was kind of silly. It was what it was though. Now we know what to expect for GM events? Maybe
