I have everything custom bound. Just because they are in the first and second slot, does not mean they are on hotkey 1 and 2. I actually don't use the 1, 2, 3, 4, etc., preferring instead Q, E, R, F, C etc. and their Shift+KEY/Alt+KEY variations.

Basically, I panicked. This is my first experience with group EverQuest PvP and I'm completely unfamiliar with who is who. By that I mean, who is in Nihilum, who is in Red Dawn (I had just joined the previous night), and who is what class. I had an assist hotkey setup, but it wasn't picking up a target. Rather than continuing to run around like an idiot, I decided to start spending my mana and clicked the first Nihilum tag that caught my eye.

If all of Nihilum was /anon, I wouldn't have had any idea who was safe to nuke and probably have been even less useful than I was in this video.

Again, I'm very green. I didn't even have a stun spell memmed until the Permafrost encounter where I was specifically advised to put one on my bar. As for dispelling, I'd have to ask my guildmates what makes for a good dispell target because I'm constantly terrified I'll dispell one of our DoTs. If they buff like me, I use Jboots, Acumen Mask, and silly buffs like Chill Sight to create empty slots at the top of my buff order so I can easily self dispel things like root.

As it turns out, I must stand still to cast a spell so I didn't have much choice in the matter. At level 47, being a target is probably my greatest contribution to an encounter like this since my spells are resisted 90% of the time. Until Ice Comet, my best single target nukes are all fire and I imagine they are kitted out with fire resist for Nag. Perhaps dispelling is the best option. I'll keep this in mind for the future.

I don't know where you got the impression that I keyboard turn, but I don't. A and D are strafe keys and I turn with the mouse.

I really appreciate the constructive feedback. You really make playing on P1999 an enjoyable venture, not just for me, but for everyone involved in this discussion. I also appreciate your effort to blur the lines between Rants and Flames and Server Chat. I too think post-etiquette like yours should be allowed everywhere to create a more cohesive and universal forum-going experience. Limiting it to a single subforum just seems silly.
