Game Mechanics: EXP rate for Evil/Casters

I'll make this quick,

At the NRO derv camp 2 days ago me and my wife were virtually identical on exp at level 10. I am a Delf Wiz she is a Freeport Human Necro. After no deaths on either of our parts and 3 hours at the camp, I was more then 3 blues higher then her in exp, where due to our class and race combo's we should have the same penalty.

So I am not sure if I gained exp to fast or her to slow.

Update, today at WC Derv group we again had almost the same exp but gained it at about the same rate from levels 11 to 13.
