Melody Hotkey

Does the Melody hotkey work? I tried using a melody hotkey (e.g., /melody 2 6 8) and it only sang #2 (Selos). Maybe it doesn't work with certain songs? Advice appreciated as twisting is important for a Bard. Do I need an instrument?
