So I read some recent news articles because I had only previously read one regarding an Illinois man who took video of police officers and is refusing a plea deal. From what I've read and how I understood it:
States that have laws regarding "two-party conversation" require that both parties consent to the audio taping, meaning you cannot secretly record anyone. Of cases that have gone to court (that I am aware of), prosecution has only been upheld in cases where audio was captured in a "secretive" manner.
