I never understood this carpal tunnel shit. I hit hotkeys more often playing any melee with an attack skill, or any class in any newer MMORPG. Playing a rogue, you'll often be spamming the backstab key because staring at your hotkey bank all the time to get backstabs off the split second it comes off cooldown usually isn't an option. On a bard, you only have to click something every three seconds, and there's a casting bar right there to tell you when to do it. I've been a gamer for like 10 years, playing just about anything including most major MMORPG titles. Never had any kind of physical problem from hitting keys too often, and EQ bards are one of the least stressful classes as they literally don't have anything that can be spammed without delay.
Neither have I. I'm fairly certain it's a story from live where some dude probably posted about it on forums somewhere and everyone just ran with it and gave it their own twist: "BARD TWISTING CAUSES CARPAL TUNNEL. FACT". In all honesty I click a fuckton less twisting songs than I do playing something lol LoL or starcraft where you are constantly clicking and moving. The only time I've ever experienced any pain from this game was when I was AE kiting and running in a tight circle for 10-15 minutes holding down 'w' while tapping 'd' with my left hand.

tl;dr
1. pretty sure any actual gamer is MORE than ok with the amount of clicking it takes to twist songs every few seconds
2. its probably an old wives tale of the eq community
3. etc
