Pre-AIDS there was a club in lower east side called Elf Sim. There was a sizeable gay little person community in NYC up until the late 70's.

It was also where a lot of the area's first gen D&D people hung out, because the scenes pleasantly intersected as one can plainly see.

Then Reagan got elected and that era came to a close.

It took us 20 years for the public to get comfortable with elf sims again. Then we elected Trump. And we're all freaks again for some reason.
