Are we allowed to like AI art?

The issue I really take is that this isn't about who is, or isnt legally right.

It's about challenging the company that owns the IP we love using maximum force against people who also love it.

I don't think anyone here likes what Nintendo does. I don't think anyone here thinks that all protests are burning down their communities.

But i find it odd that in this particular case you guys are 110% against ANY challenge to the authority shutting down THJ.

Nobody here is arguing if or if they don't have the right to shut them down. But they are saying it's not conducive to a happy community.

First the protests started as, "dont shut down THJ, we pay for live EQ and will stop our support of that if you do!"

Then it extended to a guy on reddit saying, "Im going to go on strike (like reddit does all the time) for this legal issue that I don't agree with".

Then people who generally support protests all the time, and hate corporations, are like NOO LOSERS EVIL BAD BURN THEM! FUCK ANYONE WHO SUPPORTS THEM

It's clearly a hypocritical stance to take.

It's also obtuse to actually believe that this lawsuit isn't over the numbers of people THJ was pulling from live, and the losses live (rightly) felt it was incurring.

It clearly says that in the initial claim. They weren't like, "damn our population is suffering while this free illegal mod of our game is BOOMING.. guess we can't do anything about it.. OH WAIT.. they have donation system!??!"

That is not how this shit works.

Which means, what you're actually supporting, is validating for DBG that any use of the EQ IP will result in legal action if your project becomes too popular, because the greater EQ community supports that.

I wouldn't be surprised if the lack of server updates here is because they just want their numbers to remain low here to avoid further actions.

Im sure the last thing a rational person would want is a active red community on a server that is hanging on legally by a thread.
