In German we call that letter "ein scharfes S" so: "a sharp S". It looks like a B.
Just google "scharfes S" and you'll get it from google. ßßßßßßßß It makes the same sound as the usual S or maybe it's supposed to sound sharper, like if a snake says the letter S. That's why we call it sharp S. It's just for beauty of course! | ||
