If you in fact lied nope. You may defend yourself by saying your friends expect you to lie so its OK.
Also, calling out his actions in another way is waaay more classy, yes?
Instead of making an arse off yaself by ridiculing the man (whether he was right about you or not) by making fun of a fundamental part of his limitations.
I cant believe this needs explaining.
