Since we live in a simulation.

MTG.

It was and is the best digital card game.

The actual, physical, version of MTG that you play inside this gigantic digital simulation we call the universe.
Yea I really like the commander format although, even though it’s a singleton deck (in hearthstone we used to call those Highlander from the movie with the quote “there can be only 1” [of each card]), having a guaranteed commander to play every game causes games to spiral out of control quite quickly

I am by far the worst player of my cousins, and I use their commander decks when we play. But even with crappy me piloting, generally if a deck hasn’t popped off to where it can completely obliterate all opponents by turn 4-5ish that’s a slow start. I wrecked them in the last two matches I played with their decks

But it’s fun doing 1v1v1 commander because there’s politics, somewhat. At first I was like oh geez how into the weeds are we going to get with politics but it’s pretty self-explanatory. If someone is popping off the other two gang on up that person for simple self-preservation. So it creates extra challenge for anyone who gets a great start in that you WILL be doing a 1v2 at that point. So you can’t go all in attacking someone and leave yourself vulnerable to the other player

Having played both formats I prefer commander. But MTG in general I can only play for so long because the decks are so strong I get tired of the 10 different effects having to resolve at once, there being some 14/18 flying, vigilance, deathtouch minion that started out as a 2/2 but has crazy synergy with other other stuff, along with having to manage an additional 20 different copies of a 2/2 goblin or zombie token all on the same board with artifacts, enchantments and planes walkers. It gets to be too much math for me. And I guarantee as we get more drunk and high on weed we miss crucial stuff like
Counters we forgot to apply, etc
