And there are tons of women out there. Yes the odds can be stacked against men with dating apps because there are more men than women, allowing women to be a bit more selective. But just because something has some challenge isn’t a reason to give up on the entire idea of dating. I can see giving up on apps but there are other ways to still meet people as you mentioned I’ll offer a recent example: I didn’t post about it but about 3 weeks ago I met a girl from Match at a coffee shop. I like to often pick coffee as a first date because it’s cheap. I always pick up the tab on dates and that gets expensive when dining out. But two $5 coffees? No problem, I gotchu, fam So I meet this girl who didn’t have a lot on her profile. She was thin to medium build. Decent looking in the face. And we get to talking. And she comes right out with “I’m a bit of a computer nerd. I work in IT on cybersecurity, and in my free time I LOOOOVVE playing Final Fantasy 14” I remember thinking look at this a computer nerd girl. Now my standards are kind of stupid high (very pretty girls only for NopeNopeNopeNope) so I ended up not following up after the first date because I wasn’t into her look enough. But I guarantee a lot of the lonely nerds online would have been ALL ABOUT this girl There’s a lotta girls out there (depending on where you live) with a lot of different personalities or interests And even if a date doesn’t work out, which happens a LOT, it’s still nice to meet people and hear their stories, I often end up learning something. Like this last girl I mentioned talked about how she had to bust an employee for surfing porn on his work phone. Because I had asked her “I bet you find some wild stuff on people’s electronics doing IT huh?” And her stories were entertaining And like Loramin mentioned, it’s good practice even when it doesn’t work out | |||
