Near collision at DCA the day before?

The airliner brickyard 4514 receives notification from their instruments about an impending collision. The pilot says they had an "RA" and are going to "go around" (abort landing, go around and try again).

"If the system diagnoses a risk of impending collision, it issues a resolution advisory (RA) to the flight crew, which directs the pilots how best to regulate or adjust their vertical rate so as to avoid a collision."
