If anyone is brave enough, the wiki could really use a "Steam Deck Setup Guide". It would basically just require someone copy/pasting what's in this thread, plus a little editing to make it cohesive.

I'd add one myself, but I hate dealing with WINE already on my Linux PC (something about my graphics card made it a nightmare). Now that I have things working (albeit with terrible framerate), the last thing I want to do is mess with it again on the tiny virtual keyboard of my Steam Deck.

I had posted on on the wiki simultaneous to me posting this this one just seems easier to locate however it was just a post with a link to this guide iirc. Also just connect a Bluetooth keyboard for your text input makes life a whole lot easier.
