The exp per hour is significantly lower with the helm vs. the BP, most places you level at will cover the cost of the jaspers.The helm is 130 hp in 10 seconds for 780 hp a minute versus the BP at 307 hp in 10 seconds for 1842 hp a minute. There's no contest there, and if you're battle healing with a mob rooted you don't have time to use the helm.
The best answer is to have both, however the BP is so absolutely overpowered, why would you limit yourself?

The BP is definitely worth the plat, but the Helm is underappreciated, and given its low price, it is unquestionably one of the strongest items in the game in terms of its cost/power ratio.
Consider the cost of a pre-nerf Fungus Staff (heals 150 hp per min) or a Zlandicar's Heart (heals 50 hp per minute). Then contrast with a 500pp item that heals 780 hp per minute. I mean, I certainly wouldn't advise it (for reasons of ego and sanity), but in a pinch you can basically play main healer for an XP group with a DW helm. It's a pretty crazy item for how cheap and easily acquired it is.
