I meant that MMA is objectively more popular amongst modern audiences than traditional eastern martial arts
I’m basing that on the fact that traditional eastern martial arts tournaments aren’t selling out entire stadiums and getting thousands of Pay Per View buys not just from individuals but from bars who charge cover that night to make $
But are there more casual non-professional participants of MMA than of other traditional martial arts? That I don’t know. The traditional martial arts are still useful as a workout method, I imagine that is their main draw now. Whereas before MMA became as mainstream, traditional martial arts were seen as more useful for self-defense
