is there a definitive guide for playing on a MAC?

Long time P99er but I know nothing about Macs and I'm trying to help a friend (Mac user) get started. I have found threads(old) about how to play on a MAC and other threads(recent) about something that changed and no longer works. Is there a definitive guide on this? thanks
