Do you think they pay taxes on all these hundreds of thousands of dollars they all exchange between each other?

When a person gives money or property over 15k a year to someone other than their spouse or dependent, they are required to pay gift tax. This federal excise starts at 18% and can reach up to 40% on certain gift amounts.
