I know 2 empath sniper recon that could drop an enemy insurgent with zero hesitation. However order them to grenade a school and they will eat the court martial happily.

Historically moral has been the deciding factor in many wars, that's because you needed empaths to fight for a worthy cause. Sociopaths will fight because they enjoy killing they also won't sacrifice themselves for the greater good or fight beyond all hope because they are not fighting for something greater than themselves.
